Further to the comments of Malcolm Loveday (‘Fly-tipping is endemic’, Opinion, June 4), I thoroughly agree with him regarding fly-tipping.
I have contacted the council with regards to having a gate placed at the entrance to an alley, which runs behind privately-owned houses, where rubbish is often thrown. I asked, if it was possible for a gate to be put in place, would they clear the rubbish first. Of course the answer was a resounding no.
It is now a major journey all the way to the Winchmore Hill dump from the Enfield Highway/Lock with traffic as it is and should you have more than one load just imagine the cost in fuel alone its just not practical.
What other facilities will the council or Government deem to take away from this side of the borough next I wonder.
