I have been treated at Chase farm Hospital for the past 30 years for different treatments without any complaints.

The staff have been absolutely perfect in all respects. The hospital doctors and nurses are a perfect bunch in my view.

Owing to the changes, Chase Farm sent me to Barnet Hospital for surgery to search for bladder stones.

My appointment was for 1pm. I had to get transport at cost from Enfield because I could not drive home after the operation.

At 2.10pm I was taken to a ward and had to put a gown on. I was still sitting waiting at 3pm. Other people were in front of me and one person had been waiting since 10am. He had had enough, got dressed and left without treatment.

At 3.15pm we were informed the doctor had not turned up and they were trying to get a replacement surgeon.

Most people left. I waited and was at last operated on by 4pm. What a day I had to endure. I was frustrated, unwell and did not know what to do.

I arrived back home at 6pm and, being 72 years of age, I was in distress.

The next day I had to return to see a cardiologist doctor at Barnet for heart trouble. I took my car and tried to find a parking spot (for 45 minutes).

No joy. It was a disaster.

By now I should be booked in to see a doctor. I took a chance and parked where the staff park. There were lots of spaces but I could have been clamped. This was traumatising indeed, but I had to see a doctor urgently. I rushed in, my blood pressure was very high and my heartbeat was 130-140. This being very high I was stressed out and traumatised over parking. However, to my delight, I was not clamped.

If this is to be our future at Barnet Hospital, God help us.

Please, please save Chase Farm.

With my heart condition, I could have been dead trying to get to my appointment on time.
