by DOMINIC GOVER An Edmonton woman is living in fear after she was savagely beaten up in front of her children by a gang of eight men.

The 27-year-old mother of four was was set upon by the mob who beat her to the ground as she held her two-year-old daughter in her arms.

After the vicous attack, the gang laughed at the striken woman and child cowering on the pavement and sped from the scene in two dark coloured BMW cars.

Following the attack, which happened at around 4pm outside Boundary Court surgery in Snells Park, Boundary Court Estate in upper Edmonton, the woman was taken to hospital where she received treatment for bruising and swelling.

The brutal assault on Monday has left the victim's four children petrified of letting her out of their sight.

Now, the woman, who does not wish to be named, fears for her saftey after gang members threatened to kill her.

She said: "I was crying for two days after the attack. I never want to go to the estate again. I just want to get as far away as possible."

The assault has left the woman too scared to return to her home in Angel, Edmonton, and she is now living with relatives.

The attack was sparked by a row between the victim and another mother inside the waiting room of the Boundary Court surgery. The young mum objected to the victim's two year girl stroking her baby's face.

A scuffle between the two women broke out in the waiting room and continued until staff at the medical centre removed the brawling pair. It is believed that the outraged young woman sent for the gang shortly afterwards.

Edmonton MP, Andy Love, has pledged to help her in her quest to be safe from the violent criminals who have wrecked her life.

The young mother said: "I am the complete opposite of how I used to be and am frightened to step outside."

Enfield Council has offered the victim alternative accommodation.

A spokesman for the authority said: "Tenants' safety is of paramount concern to the council. If a tenant tells us that they are in fear of their life, we will implement a range of measures, including finding temporary, alternative and safe and accomodation, if necceassary.
