A MAN received nasty injuries after being punched in the head while on a night out with friends.
The man had just left Finley's pub (formerly Kennedy's) in Hertford Road, Enfield, with friends.
While they were making their way to another night spot they saw a man with his shirt off being chased down the street by two young men.
The two immediately stopped chasing the half-clad man and approached the victim and his friends instead.
An argument broke out but, when the man intervened to protect one of his friends, he was punched in the back of the head.
He fell to the ground and the attackers fled the scene, leaving their victim unconscious.
They were last seen heading west down Turkey Street.
The man has only recently been released from hospital and is now at home recovering.
The main suspect is described as black, around 5ft 6ins tall with a shaved head.
He is around 19-year-old and of medium build. At the time he wore a blue jumper with horizontal stripes.
Detective Constable Stuart Simille, from Enfield CID, said: "The victim received some very nasty injuries from this assault and is still undergoing treatment.
"We would ask anyone who witnessed or has any information regarding this incident to come forward so the suspects involved can be apprehended."
The incident took place around 1.25am on Saturday, April 26, and anyone with information is asked to call Det Con Stuart Simille on 020 8345 4404, or alternatively ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
