X Factor singing sensation Andy Abraham was reunited with fans in Enfield Town this week as he launched his new album.

Andy, who shot to fame in last year's X Factor competition, visited HMV music store in Church Street on Monday, for a packed signing celebrating the release of his latest album, Soul Man, a selection of Motown classics.

The 42-year-old former bin man, who lives with wife, Denise and children Tara and Jacob in Baker Street, hopes Soul Man will be as successful as his platinum debut The Impossible Dream, which sold a staggering 176,689 copies in its first week.

Andy said: "Soul Man is a great album, which I think a lot of people will enjoy.

"I love all forms of soul music - it's the music I grew up with and listened to with my mum. I loved the idea of doing a Motown album, especially around Christmas - It's very seasonal and nostalgic."

Andy has just finished a UK tour, peaking with a sell-out performance at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday, watched by his X Factor mentor Sharon Osbourne.

"Playing the Albert Hall, where all the greats have performed, has to be the best moment of my career so far," he said.

"I woke up that day expecting to be really nervous, but instead, I thought let's have it'. My voice was still feeling really good, despite all the shows I had done, and I went out there and gave it my all.

"I had a cry at the end. It was very emotional."

Andy is as busy as ever as the festive season approaches. As well as his new album, he is preparing to launch a Christmas single, December Brings Me Back to You on December 11, teaming up with Barnardo's and ITV breakfast show, GMTV.

He is also making big plans for 2007 which involve collaborating on a an original album of songs.

"I feel more established as a singer, so the next step is to co-write and write songs myself. The next album will be completely original, which I am over the moon about," he said.

Despite his hectic schedule, Andy still finds time to watch this season's X Factor contest, where the judges, he says, are as harsh as ever'.

"I went to the studios to watch the show last Saturday", he said. "I thought Robert Allen was the best performer on the night, I also like Eton Road and Ben Mills, but Leona Lewis has a very good chance of winning.

"Simon Cowell has been a bit unkind to the Macdonald Brothers. It's terrific to get up on stage and perform, but it can really knock your confidence to be put down the way they have. They have to stick with it, go out there and be themselves," he added.
