Football legend Frank McLintock opens Nightingale Cancer Support Centre shop
Former Arsenal skipper Frank McLintock opened a charity shop in Oakwood on Saturday.
The 72-year-old, who was made an MBE in 1972, opened the Nightingale Cancer Support Centre shop in Bramley Road at 10am.
Manager Shirley Scott said the legend is a “lovely guy” and spent two hours at the shop.
She said: “It was a really good day. The shop is going down well to be honest and we were given some very nice donations.
“So far so good, it was a good day.”
The revamped Nightingale charity shop is the second in the borough – the other in Baker Street in Forty Hill.
