A concert to raise cash for a campaign against a major waste plant is planned for Sunday.

English soprano Dame Emma Kirkby will perform at St Andrew’s Church, Alexandra Park Road, in Muswell Hill, from 4pm.

Proceeds will go to the The Pinkham Way Alliance, a campaign opposing the waste processing plant proposed by The North London Waste Authority, on a site adjoining Muswell Hill Golf Course.

The singer will be accompanied by lutenist Jakob Lindberg, and the concert will raise money through ticket sales.

Pinkham Way would deal with waste from London boroughs Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.
