Coffee morning raises £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support
2:00pm Saturday 29th September 2012 in News By Jaber Mohamed
A charity coffee morning raised £200 for charity yesterday.
The Mayor of Enfield Councillor Kate Anolue opened the coffee morning at St Johns Parish Centre in Bourne Hill, Palmers Green.
Home Instead Senior Care, a home care provider in Church Hill road, hosted the morning to raise funds for charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
Chris Thomas, care manager, said: “It went well. The turnout wasn’t very big because there were so many coffee mornings happening in the area. However we still managed to raise £200.
“A lady from Macmillan came down and it was a great chance for them to raise their profile in the area.”
The event was part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning organised by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thousands of events took place throughout the UK to raise money for the charity.
