Enfield bank makes heroic charity effort for Macmillan Cancer Support

Barclays bank in Enfield Town may look a little unusual on Friday when its staff dress as superheroes.

The unusual attire is part of the branch’s bid to raise £6,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support during its annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.

The cancer charity encourages people throughout the country to get involved in coffee mornings to raise cash for the good cause.

Barclays employees will serve hot drinks and cake to customers and branch manager Tracie Paddock will spend a full day running on a treadmill to try to smash the target.

The event, which will rely largely on donations, will take place in The Town between 9.30am and 4pm.

Last year, 51,000 people signed up to coffee morning and raised a record £10 million for the cancer charity.
