Pupils treated to PE lesson with Gareth Bale
Primary school pupils were treated to a PE lesson with Spurs footballer Gareth Bale today.
Year three pupils from Worcesters School, in Goat Lane, Enfield, took part in a PE lesson with the football star which included football and hockey training.
The lesson was part of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s work in schools providing cover for teachers and sports education for pupils.
The 23-year-old Welsh international said: “It’s fun to do these visits and see the type things the foundation is doing in the area.
“It was fun to play hockey again and help out with the lesson and it’s great to see the smiles on the kids faces.”
Alison Martin, deputy head of the school said: “All the children really enjoyed themselves and it all of them were very excited, as were all the staff.
“The visit tied in with the current lessons we’re doing about legacy and getting the children involved with sport and exercise.”
The visit also coincides Spurs recent move to a new training centre in Enfield and is part of plans to expand work carried out by the club’s foundation at schools in the Borough.
