Households called to sign up for free heating help
11:46am Monday 17th September 2012 in News By Bruce Thain
People are being called to sign up for free heating help before the start of the cold winter weather.
The Warm Front scheme is offering people the chance to get help with the heating in their house with free loft insulation, draught proofing and water tank insulation.
Edmonton MP Andy Love is calling for people to find out if they are eligible for free heating and insulation improvements.
He said: ““I know from my weekly advice surgeries that energy bills are a big worry for many people in Edmonton and that the poorest houses who can least afford it are the ones being hardest hit by high prices.
“As we go into autumn and winter, more people will have to make hard choices about whether they can afford to heat their homes and will often make themselves ill by suffering in the cold.
“There is no harm in enquiring and seeing if you may be eligible for help with insulation and heating measures that will not only make your home warmer, but will reduce your energy bills too.”
People can sign up for warm front or find out if they are eligible by visiting their Citizens Advice Bureau.
