An MP awarded a cheque to a residents' association last week after they had raised money for charity with a street party.

David Burrowes, MP for Enfield Southgate, presented the cheques to people from Oakfield Road who have finally collected all the money raised from their Diamond Jubilee street party.

The money, which was raised through a raffle and charity auction, went to charities Prostate Cancer UK, which received £500, and Southgate charity Operation Fish, which got £1,230.65.
