Staff washing cars for the good cause
A car wash helped raised £260 for a children’s charity yesterday.
Five members of staff from Premier Inn in Innova Park spent four-and-a-half hours washing customer and staff cars for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
They charged £5 a pop for their services, with all the proceeds going to the good cause.
Zoe Fitter, operations manager, said: “It went really well. People were really supportive and some just gave us money without getting us to wash our cars.
“I ache today, I didn’t realise how much energy it took but we were all very coordinated, it was good fun.”
Three staff members also made and sold cupcakes which were sold to nearby businesses.
Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, which runs the Premier Inn, picked Great Ormond Street Hospital this year as their official charity.
They aim to make £3million by April 2014 to allow them to sponsor a new children’s ward.
