Enfield hosts its own Bandstand Marathon today

Enfield will host its own Bandstand Marathon today.

Broomfield Park, Hilly Fields, Ponders End Park and Albany Park will provide the venues for the free music event between 1pm and 5pm. 

Acts including urban pop artists Cardan Javy, R&B acapella group 4 Real and 60s soul from the Soul Agents are amongst the line-up.

The event, which is part of the London 2012 Festival, is one of hundreds of outdoor concerts taking place on Sunday in bandstands and outdoor performance spaces across the UK.

Ruth Mackenzie, director of the London 2012 Festival, said: “The Bandstand Marathon is encouraging local music groups to showcase their talents and be part of the London 2012 Festival.

“I am proud that we are delivering our vision to use the power of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games to boost participation in creating a cultural legacy post-London 2012.”
