Butcher with Parkinson's Michael Peatchey sets off on 330-mile charity cycle

A butcher with Parkinson’s will embark on a charity cycle from Land's End to his Grange Park shop today.

Michael Peatchey, who has owned Fine Foods in The Grangeway since 1984, will cycle the 330-mile stretch the raise money for The Cure Parkinson’s Trust, a charity dedicated to curing the disease.

The 60-year-old, who was diagnosed with the neurological disease two years ago, has raised more than £4,300 from donations so far.

He is due back at the shop on Tuesday at 6.45pm, where a crowd of 100 friends, family, sponsors and supporters will welcome him back to the borough.
