Thug jailed for Palmers Green William Hill robbery
5:30pm Thursday 16th August 2012 in News By Hermione Wright
A robber who stole cash from a Palmers Green betting shop has been jailed for four years.
Michael Okadigbo, of Southgate Road in Islington, stole £2,750 from counter staff at William Hill bookmakers, in Green Lanes, on September 7 last year.
The 27-year-old then recruited an accomplice, 21-year-old Adisa Sabado of Church Road in Croydon, to rob a William Hill betting shop in Kilburn High Road on September 29.
The pair verbally threatened counter staff and made off with more than £2,000 from tills before fleeing the area just after 7pm.
Detectives from the Flying Squad based at Finchley and Barking identified the men though CCTV seized from the stores.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of both robberies, charged and remanded in custody. However, Sabado was found not guilty of the robbery at the William Hill in Palmers Green.
They were sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday. Sabado was given a 20-month jail term for one count of robbery after pleading guilty on January 25. Okadigbo was handed a lengthier sentence for two counts of robbery.
