Beacon to be lit to mark Diamond Jubilee in Enfield Wash

A beacon linking up with more than 4,000 others will be lit in an Enfield Wash park later to mark the Jubilee.

The massive seven-metre-high beacon in Albany Park in Bell Lane will be lit at 10.15pm, with a firework display 15 minutes later to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Live music and dance performances will be put on and a bouncy castle and bonfire supper will be available during the evening.

A second beacon will be lit in Trent Park to mark the 60-year milestone.

Enfield Realist says...
8:49pm Mon 4 Jun 12

I am writing this post as I stand in a tent surrounded by people looking a bit disappointed.
Enfield council have wasted money on what is a terrible event.
A tent with some bands playing music that is quite awful, an ice cream can, a burger van and a bouncy castle that is only big enough for 3 children......surely Enfield council could have spent our hard earned tax money on something a bit better, or not bother at all.
Absoloutely disgusting.
