A POLITICIAN has asked pedestrians and cyclists to name the borough's accident hotspots after figures showed casualties rose last year.

Joanne McCartney, London Assembly Member for Enfield and Haringey, said she wanted to know where road users thought the most dangerous junctions and roundabouts were.

The move comes after Transport for London figures showed that 55 cyclists were injured on the borough's roads last year – a 45 per cent increase on 2009 – while more than 1,000 pedestrians were hurt.

Ms McCartney labelled the rise “worrying” after a spate of cyclist deaths in central London and at the start of national Road Safety Week.
