WILDLIFE fans can take a night time walk on the wild side in Enfield’s Trent Park on Friday.

Former parks ranger and survival expert Andy Jones is leading the free two-hour Nocturnal Explorer Walk starting at 8:30pm at Trent Park Cafe, in Cockfosters Road.

The 46-year-old intends to bring the mystery of dusk and nocturnal wildlife alive. He will also be teaching survival techniques.

A bat detector will be connected to speakers for participants to hear the creatures’ high pitched calls. Foxes, badgers and small deer are likely to be seen, while small mammals will be collected in special traps in the day to be released in sight of the walkers.

A food station will lure animals and it will be suddenly lit up to see which animals scuttle out.

The walk is suitable for all ages and no booking is required. Contact Alan Mitellas on 0208 441 8272 or email alan.mitellas@enfield.gov.uk for more information.
