A community mingled amiably at an annual summer fete.

Hale Village Summer Party made a successful return on Saturday July 22 on Perkyn Square, in Tottenham.

Over 400 festival-goers enjoyed a host of family activities that included face painting, an art workshop, badge making and a bouncy castle.

Living Under One Sun, Unite, Student Housing, the Migrant Support Centre, and the Little Engineers Nursery were some who helped St Francis at the Engine Room organise the day.

Pizzeria Loven Presents, which will run the café in the new Engine Room building opening in October, served street food to the crowd.

Father Andrew Williams, Priest Missioner at the Engine Room, said: “I would like to thank all of the volunteers from the Engine Room, and the other organisations who took part in helping to make the summer festival such a success.

“The Hale Village community is still young, but the festival goes from strength to strength every year and despite the rain we enjoyed our largest turnout.”

St Francis at the Engine Room is relocating to the first new church built in the Diocese of London since 1977 in October.

A new community space, café and 26-place nursery in the new space will assist Engine Room play a greater community role.

Running alongside the summer celebration was the Unveiling Christian Arts Festival.

Eighteen London artists exhibited their work, while music, drama and dance went on around them.
