Transport for London has named the company that will rebuild White Hart Lane station.

Taylor Woodrow, part of VINCI Construction UK, will work with Transport for London (TfL) from the autumn with the intention of completing the works by spring 2019

Football fans will still be able to use the station when the new stadium opens in 2018.

The station is to remain open for the majority of the improvement works.

A new ticket hall and station entrance on Love Lane is to be constructed along with a new additional entrance for access to Penshurst Road, two free lifts giving step free access for the street to platform, new cycle parking, improved CCTV and signs.

Jon Fox, TfL’s director for London Rail, said: “White Hart Lane station is set for a radical transformation to make life easier and more comfortable for customers.

“The station will see lifts installed for the first time, making it more accessible for everyone, and the new entrance will provide better connections with the local area, supporting the new homes and jobs being created in Tottenham.”

The redevelopment supports plans for the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium, a museum, hotel and 585 new homes.

It is also said to be beneficial for the 2,000 homes to come from the High Road West masterplan, and a further 3,000 homes in the North Tottenham area.

Jez Haskins, Taylor Woodrow’s TfL sector director, said: “Taylor Woodrow are pleased to be delivering what will become a new landmark station for TfL, which will benefit from the skills and expertise that we have gained in station upgrades at Victoria and Tottenham Court Roaad.

“We look forward to working with TfL and all of the local stakeholders to successfully transform White Hart Lane station.”

TfL is introducing brand new trains on the London Overground route through White Hart Lane station to replace the 30-year-old carriages currently in use.

Around 1.3 million passengers use White Hart Lane station annually.
