A DRUG dealer who ran away from police after the getaway car he was in crashed into a police car has been jailed.

Aydin Aziz, of The Ridgeway, Enfield, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs at Harrow Crown Court yesterday (Thursday).

The 45-year-old, who will spend seven years behind bars, was sentenced along with Omar Assaf, of Hillview Close, Wembley and Debbie Reid, of Gorhambury, St Albans.

Reid, the importer, made three trips to France using the channel tunnel between March and April and the last time, Assaf and Aziz met her at her house.

She handed them an orange carrier bag which contained two kilograms of cocaine and two kilograms of heroin and the two drove off.

Police officers on their trail tried to make the vehicle driven by Assaf stop – but his car rammed into theirs and a member of the public.

They ran away but were arrested after a footchase.

Reid was arrested around the same time as she was driving away from her home address on suspicion of conspiracy to import Class A drugs into the UK.
