A team of young church volunteers from churches will be taking in community events across the borough this week.

N:flame trains young people to work in local schools and in partnership with local churches. From Monday, July 25 the team will be based at Chase Family Church in Shirley Road, Enfield, and will be involved in activities including serving cream teas to the elderly, gardening, and face painting.

They will also have a stall in the market square, supporting the beach event.

Martin Higgins, one of the leaders at Chase Family Church said: “Too often young people get a bad press, but these youngsters have given up a week of their summer holidays to serve the local community. We believe the church should be both visible and practical, and this is one way of showing that.”
