A “BUOYANT” market has won an award.
Enfield Town Market collected the ‘best large community market’ award at the Great British Market Awards.
The market, which is owned by the Old Enfield Charitable Trust, was redeveloped in 2015 and now includes bands, choirs and community activities.
Jim Eustance, chairman of The Old Enfield Charitable Trust Market Committee, said: “Well done for the hard work and cooperation prior to the launch of the regenerated Enfield Market and the subsequent effort that has been maintained thus far by everyone involved.
“It is our aim for a buoyant market to advertise the work The Old Enfield Charitable Trust achieves in the Ancient Parish of Enfield and hope that all personnel will continue to work towards becoming an even more formidable team to increase the impetus generated so far.
“There is still much to be done before we reach our 'finest hour'.”
