An education centre offering classes outside of normal school hours has been given a “special distinction” award.

Axis Tuition Centres, which has branches in Hendon and Enfield, was recognised by the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education (NRCSE), which assesses supplementary schools all of the country.

The Special Distinction award is the highest achievable award a school can achieve and means Axis ranks among the top seven tuition centres in the United Kingdom. The Ponders End branch is the only tuition centre in Enfield borough with a special distinction award.

The centre manager of Axis Ponders End, Said Bayraktar, said: “We are always trying our best for our students to reach their potentials and all of our teachers share the good practice among each other, which makes us collaborate together to achieve the best possible outcome.”

NRCSE director Pacale Vassie said: “Axis Centres have shown their quality by achieving this award. Their high standards in education, accredited assessment system and qualified personnel have improved the quality of education they offer.

“Axis is an example to the rest of the supplementary schools”.

Axis, a charity founded in 1994, has 15 branches across the United Kingdom. These centres provide 11+, GCSE and A Level lessons in English, Maths and Science in the evenings to people of all ages.
