Plans to redevelop Chase Farm Hospital have moved a step closer.
Royal Free, who took over the hospital last summer, have submitted their plans to the government.
The proposals see a complete redevelopment of the site, on The Ridgeway, Enfield, with the building of new homes and schools in addition.
If the plans are approved by the government, it will contribute £82million towards the overhaul.
David Sloman, chief executive of the Royal Free London, said: “Board approval of the business case brings us another step closer to securing the funds we need to transform Chase Farm into a hospital that is fit for modern healthcare and will help us deliver world class care to the local community for many years to come.”
The trust is also due to submit further planning applications to Enfield Council to finalise details of the multi-million pound scheme.
