A man has died after collapsing at the 18th hole of a golf course.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, received treatment by paramedics at Trent Park golf course, in Bramley Road, last Friday but were unable to resuscitate him.

Rob McMillan, who was playing with his friends at the course for the first time in 15 years described the incident.

He said: “We heard a lot of commotion happening outside. The 18th hole is very close to the bar where we were sat.

“Staff dashed out to him whilst someone called the ambulance, but sadly he could not be revived.”

Mr McMillan also said the man was playing on his own and staff claimed the man played regularly at the course by himself but was not known to anyone there.

A post-mortem into the man’s death will be arranged in due course.
