A school has been praised for its “ethos of high expectations” after being rated 'good' by Ofsted.

Oasis Academy Enfield, in Innova Park, was given the education watchdog's second highest rating in all categories, with inspectors crediting the progress students make throughout the years.

Principal Neil Hassell said he was “exceptionally proud” of what his pupils and staff had achieved during the inspection on April 29 and 30.

He said: “We are exceptionally proud of all our students and staff. Ofsted have endorsed the hard work, transformational learning and strong pastoral support that is at the heart of this academy and confirmed that achievement, behaviour, teaching and leadership are all good.”

In their report, inspectors said: “The behaviour of students is good. Students feel safe in school and are confident in adults’ ability to deal with any concern they raise.”

The report added: “Students are proud of their school and come smartly dressed and ready to learn.”

They also praised to the behaviour and attitudes of Sixth Form pupils.
