Seven people had to take evasive action to escape a raging house fire in Upper Edmonton.
The people jumped from the first floor window before the fire brigade could arrive at Fairfield Close, in Edmonton, earlier this morning.
Watch Manager Dave Girt, who was at the scene, said: "Fire crews confined the fire to the ground floor of the house, which was slightly damaged by the blaze. While the fire was contained in the porch, the house had quickly filled with thick black smoke.”
All seven people were taken to hospital as a result but there are reported to be no serious injuries.
The fire is being treated as suspiciously after it started just after 4am this morning. It was under control by 5.20am.
Four fire engines and 20 firefighters from Edmonton and Tottenham fire stations were called to the scene.
