A sale of rare plants will take place at a stately home this weekend.
The ultimate snowdrop sale will take place at Myddelton House Gardens, in Bullsmoor Lane, Enfield, on Saturday, January 24.
The sale runs from 10.30am until 12pm with enthusiasts coming from across Europe and as far out as America to see the rare plants.
The discovery of a new snowdrop was made at last year’s snowdrop sale at Myddelton House by Matt Bishop, from Devon.
Andrew Turvey, head gardener of Mydellton House Gardens, said: “Last year’s sale was made extra special by the discovery of a new rare snowdrop displaying green markings on the inner segments and on the outer petals in the gardens of Myddelton House by expert Matt Bishop.
“A decade previously, Galanthus ‘EA Bowles’, named after the legendary plantsman who lived at the house and created the historic gardens between 1865 and 1954, was found there.”
