Two Enfield MPs will meet disgruntled commuters this week to discuss repeated delays to trains.

In September, Govia took over First Capital Connect services on the overground line from Hertford North, which stops at several stations in the borough including Enfield Chase, Winchmore Hill and Palmers Green.

Since then, persistent delays and cancellations have left those using the service fuming.

Enfield North MP Nick de Bois and Enfield Southgate MP David Burrowes will host the meeting between the train provider and commuters at St Mary Magdalene church hall, in Windmill Hill on Friday, January 23, at 7.30pm.

Mr de Bois said: “Since Govia took over from FCC in September improvement to some services have not been evident because of staff shortages causing delays and cancellations – I have organised this meeting so that commuters have the opportunity to have their say directly to Govia and to listen to what Govia are going to do about it.

“It’s also a chance to find out about the promised investment in new trains and improved timetabling.”
