Volunteer police cadets donated more than 40 presents to the borough’s Christmas Tree Appeal.

The presents were delivered to Enfield Borough Council's children’s services staff on Wednesday.

Gifts were all donated by members of the public, the police and Enfield Council, who also gave a good response to the campaign by donating 30 presents giving a total of 200 gifts.

It was the young people of Enfield Volunteer Police Cadets’ overwhelming donation of more than 40 gifts that topped the league.

Cadet co-ordinator, PC Julian Pell-Coggins said: "This is just another example of the generosity of the young people of Enfield Volunteer Police Cadets.

“Not only have they given over 5,000 hours to help their community this year, they have all chosen to forego presents themselves to help make Christmas a bit special for other people their age.

“They really are the gift that keeps giving. I want to say a really big thank you to all those officers, staff and members of the public that have made this year's appeal so successful."
