An 11-year-old claimed first prize in an MP’s annual Christmas card competition.

Paris Andreou, of St Pauls Primary School, in Winchmore Hill, will have her design printed in cards sent out by Enfield Southgate MP David Burrowes.

Mr Burrowes asked his own children to choose the winner from hundreds of entries from his constituency to find the picture that will be sent to his Parliamentary colleagues and constituents.

The MP chose five runners up from Oaktree Special School, St Paul's, Highfield, St Michael at Bowes and Bowes primary schools, whose designs will feature inside and the back of the card.

Mr Burrowes said "There were many excellent designs and I am pleased to have passed the buck for choosing the winner to my children. I look forward to welcoming Paris and her parents to the Commons soon to celebrate her victory."
