Elderly man rescued in flat fire
An elderly man has been rescued from a flat fire that was caused by a cigarette.
Firefighters rescued the man from his home in Palmerston Road, on the border of Enfield and Haringey.
The man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by the London Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital.
Part of the ground floor of the one bedroom flat was damaged by flames.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a cigarette.
