A man who has been charged with murdering an elderly woman has seen his next appearance put back by three months.
Nicholas Salvador, 25, is accused of brutally murdering 82-year-old great-grandmother Palmira Silva in her garden, in Nightingale Road, in the afternoon of Thursday, September 4.
The man of Gilda Avenue, in Ponders End, was refused bail at his first hearing on September 9, where he did not make an appearance.
At the Old Bailey, Mr Salvador did not appear in person for a second time but from a video link and only spoke to confirm his name.
QC for the defence Bernard Richmond and Jonathan Rees QC for the Crown agreed to delay the plea and case management for three months whilst a further report is gathered into the case.
The Recorder of London, Judge Brian Barker QC, set a new hearing for February 27 next year.
Friends paid tribute to Ms Silva, whose body was found in her garden, last month with hundreds have been laid outside Silva’s Cafe, in Church Street, Edmonton, in memory of the 82-year-old.
Salvador is also accused of assaulting a policeman during the alleged rampage and has yet to end a plea to either charge.
