A theatre has expressed its delight after supporters raised nearly £80,000 for it in the London Marathon.
Model and beauty queen Amy Willerton was among runners collecting sponsorship for Chickenshed Theatre in Chase Side, Southgate after completing the 26.2 mile course yesterday.
The theatre, a registered charity, gives people of all ages the chance to perform and has so far received £79,000.
Spokeswoman Susan Jameson said the theatre is “thrilled” by how much money has been raised.
She said: “We are so proud and thrilled by the amount people have raised for us. The fact that people have chosen us over many other charities is very humbling.
“We have exceeded all expectations and we will be able to provide many more opportunities for people of all ages to perform.”
