More than £3million will be spent on transport improvements in Ponders End following new funding from Transport for London.

Projects to introduce more greenways and increase road safety will go ahead following the agreement of Enfield Borough Council’s local implementation plan.

Enfield Council’s cabinet member for environment, Councillor Chris Bond, said: “These schemes will significantly improve the quality of transport schemes in Enfield and once again demonstrates our commitment to keeping the borough moving and making it as easy as possible for people to get to and from their destinations.

“We are determined to provide a wide range of sustainable, popular, safe transport routes through Enfield as part of our wider plans to encourage people to use healthier forms of transport and leave the car at home and these schemes will make a significant contribution towards that goal.”
