A Spurs fan reportedly stabbed in the neck during an attack by Lazio Ultras in Italy last night is due to undergo emergency surgery today.

Ashley Mills, 25, who is in a critical condition in hospital, was allegedly stabbed in the jugular vein by a Lazio fan.

Up to 50 Lazio Ultras are thought to have targeted Spurs fans in the Drunken Ship pub in Campo de Fiori before tonight’s Europa League game between Tottenham Hotspur and Lazio in Rome.

Spurs fans Dave Lesley, Stephen Tierney and Christopher Allen are also believed to be amongst the nine fans injured in the assault.

Tottenham supporters have taken to Twitter to wish the men a quick recovery while calling for fans to "stick together."

One user posted: “Sending a super Spurs family get well soon to Ashley Mills and the other injured fans.”

Another said: “Thoughts go out to Ashley Mills, Dave Lesley, Stephen Tierney and Christopher Allen!!!! Get well soon boys!!"

One fan wrote: "Ashley Mills thoughts with you and your family keep believing and breathing."
