The second installment of Edmonton’s Got Talent saw the latest entries maintain the high standards of week one as the crowds were wowed by a full line-up of acts looking to impress the judges.

But the contestants weren’t the only stars at Edmonton Green on Saturday, with Katie Holmes, a member of the five-member acapella group Band of Voices, joining the judging panel.

There was also a special appearance from ITV’s The Only Way is Essex cast members Jack Bennewith and Jasmine and Danny Walia; representing their Edmonton Green store and event sponsor London Vintage.

But nothing could outshine local singer and producer Ishey D, who secured a unanimous winning vote from the judges after performing his self-composed song Oh My Ship to a standing ovation from the crowd.

Fifteen-year-old Ishmael Dzitiro, stage name Ishey D, told the audience he wanted to put the prize money towards building his own recording studio and furthering his passion for music production.

Edmonton Green Centre manager Roger Allen said: “The atmosphere during these events has been electric, with people of all ages and backgrounds joining together and sharing the privilege of watching home grown talent in their area. It’s proving to be an unforgettable summer at Edmonton Green and I’m looking forward to seeing more amazing performances over coming weeks.”

The event will be returning on Saturday, August 10, and although entries for the main events are now closed, anyone wanting a chance in the limelight can come along to the centre’s open-stage nights taking place in the North Square from 4pm on Thursday, August 8 and 15.
