Couple in hospital after car collides with parked lorry in Brimsdown
3:28pm Tuesday 16th October 2012 in News By Hermione Wright
A couple have been rushed to hospital after their car collided with a parked lorry in Brimsdown.
A 70-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman were rescued from the car after it crashed into the lorry in Mollison Avenue at the junction with Bilton Way just after 12.35pm.
The front of the car was partly wedged underneath the lorry, which was parked on the side of the road and carrying a digger.
Fifteen firefighters worked to cut the woman out of the wreckage. Good Samaritans had helped the man out of the car before the fire brigade arrived.
The pair were treated for chest pain by paramedics who arrived at the scene. The woman also suffered a leg injury from the crash.
They have been taken as a priority to North Middlesex Hospital for treatment.
Mollison Avenue was closed both ways while the emergency services investigated but it has reopened.
