Police officer in hospital following A10 van crash

A police officer is in hospital after his police van crashed in Bullsmoor this afternoon.

The policeman received minor injuries from the A10 collision, which happened just before 1.10pm at the northbound junction with Bullsmoor Lane.

Another officer was in the van but escaped without injury.

The left hand side of the marked police van was damaged from impact and an ambulance pulled up in front of the van to treat the officer.

Two other cars – a blue Ford and a black Audi had also crashed just metres away from the incident and debris was visible on the road.

It is unclear whether the police van collided with the two cars or if it was a separate incident.

All the emergency services were called.

Officers allowed vehicles to pass by the accident, although heavy traffic built up on approach to the incident.
