Enfield community group to hop on their bikes for charity

A community group will be taking on a mammoth cycling challenge to raise money for charity.

The OLSGEIRE group will be tackling the trip along the Causeway Coastal Route in Northern Ireland, covering a distance of nearly 150 miles.

All money raised from this event will go to charity Youth Initiatives, which works with the young people from the Catholic and Protestant communities in Northern Ireland in an effort to break down barriers.

The 20 riders will have to cycle more than 40 miles a day to reach the finish line at the Europa Hotel in Belfast and aim to raise £5,000 for the charity.

The group, which takes its name from Our Lady of Mount Carmel & St George Church in Enfield Town and the slogan "enterprising, independent, resourceful and ethical”, has done a number of events for charities all over the world.

The group will be starting the challenge later this month on Saturday October 27 to Monday October 29 and people can sponsor them by going to mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/olsgeireyouthinitiatives.
