A budding runner has received a Jack Petchey Achievement Award for her dedication to her sport.
Isabella Polycarpou was presented with her award on Friday for her consistent training at Trent Park Running Club at Southgate Hockey Centre in Trent Park.
The 12-year-old has trained with the club for two-and-a-half years and she would like to pursue a running career once she has left school.
The Ashmole Academy student, who lives in The Woodlands in Southgate, trains with the club three times a week after school as well as playing for football and netball clubs.
Her mother Marina said: "I am very proud of her, a very proud parent.
"She was very pleased when she won the award and very shocked, she was chuffed.
"It is such an achievement a lovely stories for the youngsters to read."
Isabella received a medal, a certificate, as well as £200 prize money which she can spend on the club. She is deciding whether to spend the money on club t-shirts or new running equipment.
The Jack Petchey Foundation was set up in 1999 to encourage young people to achieve their potential.
