Eight arrested in Enfield during day of drug raids under Operation Hawk

A total of eight arrests were made on Thursday during a major police operation against drug-related crime.

Three people were arrested for cannabis possession, two for cocaine possession, one for cultivating cannabis, one for breach of their court order, and another for handling stolen goods.

A cannabis factory complete with approximately 40 plants in Barrowell Green was also shut down as part of the day of action.

The offensive, known as Operation Hawk, took place throughout London, with more than 350 people arrested and more than £2,600,000 of cannabis recovered.

Police used warrants to target cannabis farms, crack houses and suspected drug dealers at home and business addresses throughout the capital.

Twelve warrants were executed in Enfield.

Detective Superintendent Keith Dobson, of Crime and Operations in Enfield, said: “The results that we saw across our communities in Enfield in closing down the criminal opportunities to supply drugs during Operation Hawk, is testament to our determination to prevent the damage and destruction that drugs cause to people’s lives.”
