Volunteers call for help with polio fighting mission
5:10pm Thursday 20th September 2012 in News By Bruce Thain
A Christian charity group are calling for volunteers to help pack 5000 polio-fighting packs due to fly out to Nigeria.
Members of Christ Ambassadors, based in Enfield, are calling for people to help assemble the packs which include exercise books, stationery, toiletries packs with soap, dental care and lotions.
Organisers hope the packs will act as incentives and will increase attendance at immunisation days in areas of northern Nigeria.
The team will be assembling the packs on Wednesday September 26 from 10am until all 5,000 are ready to go.
During the last few months the group has been raisimg money for the boxes with a number sponsored runs.
The group is looking for about 20 volunteers to help with the packing and those interested in helping should contact admin@runforpolio.org.
