A sledgehammer was left on the floor outside the jewellers
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen an attempted robbery in Enfield Town this morning.
Police were called at approximately 10.20am to Ernest Jones jewellers in Enfield Shopping Precinct in Palace Gardens.
Officers from the Met’s Flying Squad are investigating the incident, which is believed to have involved six men on three motorbikes.
Three men used sledgehammers to smash the glass front window and door of the jewellers but were held back by the security guard.
Unable to enter the shop, the men fled the scene but left one sledgehammer outside the shop.
No arrests have been made.
