Fake water board official burgles elderly woman in Claremont Road Edmonton

An elderly woman was burgled in Edmonton on Sunday by a man posing as a water board official.

The man pretended there had been an explosion nearby and said he needed access to the 83-year-old victim’s home in Claremont Road to check pipe work.

The woman let him into her home and realised once he had gone that her handbag had been moved and a PSP games console was stolen.

The suspect is described as a 6ft 10ins Eastern European male between 30 and 40 years old with short black hair. He was wearing a black jacket with navy blue striped on the inside and black jogging bottoms.

Enfield Police are investigating and would like to speak to anyone with information about the incident.
