China's Olympic table tennis players squeezed in some last-minute training at an Enfield club on Saturday afternoon.

Female singles players, including world champion Ning Ding and doubles champion Xiaoxia Li, joined their coaches at Ellenborough Table Tennis Club in Kimberley Gardens to prepare for today’s quarter finals.

After a couple of hours of intensive training, players took a short break before practising their serves.

The Olympic team signed shirts and posed with young club members following their training session.

Club chairman Keith Williams said: “It was absolutely tremendous for our juniors to watch the best players in the world training the day before they try and fulfill what must be a lifetime ambition of winning the Olympic Women’s Singles title.

“The intensity of the training was remarkable and that is the best education our juniors will have had in their lives.  This was all about inspiring the next generation of table tennis players in London. ”

The Chinese Olympic men's table tennis team visited the club on Thursday to prepare for the Games.
