Production to voice Ponders End stories
12:30pm Wednesday 13th June 2012 in News By Sarah O'Brien
The people of Ponders End will perform in a production about their lives next month.
The show, by Face Front Inclusive Theatre, is designed to include people from different ethnic backgrounds and generations, as well as people with physical, sensory and learning impairments and mental health issues.
The use of sign language, audio-description and other sensory communication is integrated within the company’s shows, making them accessible to all audience members.
Annie Smol, artistic director of the company, said the company got the inspiration for the latest show from the people of Ponders End.
She said: "We have been collecting stories from Ponders End community groups and individuals from different cultural backgrounds about their struggles and achievements, their memories of Ponders End and their experiences now.
“The stories have come from people of all ages, children, teenagers and adults from 18 to 90 years old.”
The show, described as Ponderful People, will be presented in Ponders End Park on July 14, with performances at 3pm and 7pm. Tickets cost £2.
