Heavy traffic on M25 in Enfield after fatal crash

Motorists are being advised to avoid the M25 after a fatal lorry crash earlier this morning closed the motorway.

Traffic is extremely slow north of Enfield, with queues backing up to the A10 Great Cambridge Road because of the closure of the clockwise carriageway between junctions 27 and 28.

The driver of one lorry, in his 50s, died when his vehicle set on fire after a collision from behind by another lorry.

The closure is expected to be in place for the rest of the morning, and police are asking drivers to take alternative routes while they investigate the scene.
